Polarization and the Ethics of Misunderstanding

Ort: Online per Zoom

A Talmudic Approach

As our societies become more polarized, it often feels like there is little incentive to try and understand those with whom we disagree.

In this session, we’ll explore Talmudic stories as a site for expanding our moral imagination and accessing different perspectives on the same experience. We’ll consider how this reading practice might help us begin to make sense of others, even when they do not share our commitments.

Referentin:
Dr. Deborah Barer, Senior faculty member at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America
