DESCRIPTION:A Jewish perspective on Jesus of Nazareth\nWho was Jesus?\nChr
istians\, Jews\, and others offer various answers to this perennial questi
on. One plausible answer is that he was a Hasid – a person in love with
God\, drunk on the divine.\nDaniel Matt will explain what a Hasid was in f
irst-century Palestine and how this term applies to Jesus as he is portray
ed in the New Testament.\nThis evening offers a profound Jewish perspectiv
e on Jesus of Nazareth. It is held as an online lecture with the renowned
Jewish mystic teacher Daniel C. Matt. Daniel is one of the world’s leadi
ng experts on Kabbalah and the Zohar. He is a scholar of Kabbalah and teac
her of Zohar. He is author of the multi-volume translation\, The Zohar: Pr
itzker Edition\, which has been hailed as «a monumental contribution to t
he history of Jewish thought.»\n \nThis lecture will be held in English.
